Apply

Before applying for a grant from the SimBio Foundation, read through what makes a good proposal. Make sure your application will meet all the criteria for proposals. Then prepare a PDF document containing all of the following.

  • A description of the proposed research. See the criteria for page count and other limitations
  • A CV for the principal investigator and for any other key personnel
CV’s should be no more than 2 pages and ideally should be similar to the format used for National Science Foundation proposals
  • A budget and budget justification. These can be in any format that clearly lays out the proposed spending, and should be a maximum of 2 pages.
  • A letter from the institution that will administer the grant stating that they are willing to perform the administration, and will accept the offered overhead rate.
  • Preliminary human subjects approval or evidence of a submission for human subjects approval, if needed for the study. If IRB approval is pending at the time of submission and a grant is awarded, IRB approval will be needed before funds will be released.

Proposal submission is now closed for 2024. The next submission deadline will be in 2025. Please sign up for The SimBio Foundation newsletter if you wish to receive an email when the application period opens.

Up to 5 proposals will be selected for further review. If yours is one of them, you will be informed by June 1. Award(s) will be announced at the SABER annual meeting in July, and awardees will be informed shortly afterwards.
